What I collect when you use this site, why, and what you can do about it. Written to be read rather than survived.

This site belongs to Mariya Pallais, an independent consultant working with women-led brands on brand, PR and search visibility. If you want to talk to a person about anything on this page, that person is me, at mariya@mariyapallais.com.
If you fill in the contact form, I collect what you type into it: your name, company, email, and whichever of the optional fields you choose to complete. Nothing is collected from that form unless you press send.
If you email me or book a call, I have whatever you put in the message and whatever the scheduling tool records about the booking.
The site may also collect basic technical information that every website receives, such as your browser type, the pages you visited and roughly where in the world you are. This is used to understand whether the site works, not to identify you.
To reply to you, to prepare for a call, and to run my business. That is the whole list. I do not build profiles, I do not run advertising off the back of it, and I do not add you to a mailing list because you filled in a form.
A small number of services I use in order to work: an email provider, a calendar and scheduling tool, a form service, and website analytics. They process the information on my behalf and are not allowed to use it for anything else.
I do not sell your information, and I do not share it with anyone for their own marketing.
I will disclose information if the law requires me to, and I will tell you if that happens unless I am prohibited from doing so.
Enquiries are kept for as long as there is a reason to keep them, which usually means while we are talking and for a period afterwards in case you come back. Records relating to paid work are kept for as long as tax and contract law requires. If you ask me to delete what I hold and there is no legal reason to keep it, I will.
Depending on where you live, you have the right to ask what I hold about you, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, to object to how it is used, and to receive a copy of it. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
To use any of those rights, email me at mariya@mariyapallais.com. I will not charge you for it and I will come back to you within a month.
The site uses only what it needs to function, plus analytics that tell me which pages people read. You can block cookies in your browser settings. If you do, the site still works.
This site links out to LinkedIn, Instagram, Medium, YouTube, podcast hosts, publications and a scheduling tool, among others. Once you click through, you are on their site and their privacy policy applies, not this one.
This site is for people running businesses. It is not directed at children and I do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. If the change is significant, I will say so on the page rather than quietly editing it.
