The process and results

A few of the programs I have worked on, and what we built.

The case study listed below started as a single shopfront in Orange County and ended up on Good Morning America, Shark Tank, and in the celebrity boxes at Madison Square Garden.

Case study

From a sole Orange County storefront to a name people know.

What happened →
Shahira Marei at The Dirty Cookie counter

Shahira Marei invented the cookie shot, a chocolate-lined cookie you drink milk out of, and she was selling it from one small bakery in Orange County. I was brought on in 2018 to run Facebook and Instagram ads.

In 2020, the storefront closed due to COVID, while I simultaneously took over as Marketing Director. Because of COVID restrictions, a product people queued up for at a counter suddenly had to be shipped, requiring the brand to drastically increase its visibility.

What I did

My approach

Six workstreams, all running at once.

01

Paid Ads

Where I started in 2018

Facebook and Instagram were the first paid ads I ran, and they kept the lights on through the COVID closure.

02

Product launches

Easter 2020

The DIY Cookie Shot Decorating Kit, built for families stuck at home during lockdown. It sold out within hours and earned national press. A shipped product that also got the brand written about.

03

Press

More than twenty publications and TV appearances

Good Morning America, Shark Tank, and QVC more than once, alongside a long run of business and food press. Pitched and earned, not bought.

04

Influencer and collaborations

The Kardashian moment, and what it unlocked

Kourtney Kardashian posted the product after her children were sent samples. That one post opened the door to broader influencer work, along with other brand collaborations.

05

Shahira Marei’s personal brand

The founder was the story

We improved her positioning on LinkedIn and Instagram, secured podcast appearances, Forbes features, speaking appearances, and a TED talk in Egypt. People buy from a person, and Shahira was always the most interesting thing about the company.

06

Corporate and international expansion

Next up

We landed corporate partnerships that local bakeries do not get near, and set the groundwork for an expansion into Egypt, where Shahira is from.

Where it landed

Rooms a one-shop bakery does not usually get into.

All of it earned or negotiated

Commercial laundry is not a category buyers search by brand name. The job was to be the answer when a buyer asks an AI assistant who does this, and to turn that into actual enquiries.

Most of it is under NDA.

My full portfolio encompasses gaming, tech, entertainment, food and drink, luxury design and construction, running from 2018 to now. Every write-up has the same shape as the one above: who they were, what the audit found, what was built, and the results.
