Who is Mariya Pallais?

I have spent more than a decade refining and amplifying other people’s brands, six of those years on one bakery that went from a closed shopfront to national television. I still do the same work, just from a different place now. Living in Phuket has allowed me to find joy in my personal life the same way I had already found it professionally.
How I got here
That was the plan for a long time. Marketing was not on the list at all, yet somehow, I ended up in the marketing department at Airbnb. I learned how a brand voice is created and implemented, and found out I was good at it and enjoyed it.
Once I had learned what I could there, I left to start my own PR firm. I rebuilt it more than once and spent the pandemic working out which parts of the job were really mine. It comes down to this: research first, write a plan, get your approval, then build it.
These days the bulk of that work is completed through the agency side of Pink Fins. This, my own name, is reserved for the women I support one at a time with their branding identity and visibility.
How I work
These are my commitments, not a methodology.
The audit, the research, the plan, the accounts. All of it is open to you, and nothing is built behind a curtain.
I will tell you what ninety days can realistically do and what it cannot. If I think you are better off spending the money elsewhere, I will say that instead of selling you a program.
Not a pod of juniors, not an account manager relaying messages. I take a small number of clients so that stays true.
Every account is in your name with your logins. When the ninety days end you keep the engine whether or not you keep me.

Off the clock
Diving took over. I picked it up a few years ago and then rearranged my life around it. That is how I ended up working from Roatán, Australia, Thailand, and then wherever the water was good that month.
My wife and I write about that through our WanderGays website and social media. We use WanderGays to write about balancing work and travel, and we are honest about the wins and the struggles.
While I am on land, I can be found playing padel, typically far too aggressively for my skill level.
